If you do what you love, success will come. Brent Martin loves mountain biking. In the early 80s, mountain biking was just emerging as a sport, and proper equipment and apparel was non-existent. By the mid-80s, a scene was developing in Whistler and on Vancouver’s North Shore. It was there Brent entered the first Canadian Mountain Bike Championships and took home the top prize. Inspired by his passion for cycling and the need for better gear, he founded RYDERS EYEWEAR. His goal was simple: to provide premium quality, performance-oriented, active-lifestyle eyewear people wouldn’t hesitate to use – even in the most hardcore conditions.


What evolved was an offbeat, gritty brand with authentic roots and passion for their community, the sport and adventure. At RYDERS, choose from multiple frame styles, designs, lens options, functionalities and technologies – and like their slogan says, this is truly “Performance eyewear you can leave on your face.”


In 2013, RYDERS was acquired by Essilor, the world’s leading lens manufacturer, gaining direct access to the best lenses on the planet – thereby elevating and constantly improving the quality of their collection.


Committed to his North Vancouver roots, Brent and his team continue to design, develop and test every product in their own backyard, ensuring that every piece stands up to the treacherous nature of the North Shore. If it passes the test here, it is sure to easily perform for almost any other athletic endeavour anywhere else.
